Included in our “Locals Best Choice Series” is Merks Bar and Grill. Merks has been a favorite for many years loved by locals from Daytona Beach to New Smyrna Beach and beyond.
Family Friendly
While not, in my humble opinion, not the place to impress a first date, it is a very casual bar and grill with a welcoming family friendly atmosphere. Pool tables and pinball games line up to guarantee a fun sporty visit with every game on dozens of televisions.
Frankenstein Sauce
Famous for their Frankenstein Sauce, we always get chicken wings when we go there. Soooo Good! Although I believe everything on the menu is great.
Get There Early
Since Merks is a local favorite in New Smyrna Beach, it gets really crowded on the weekends. So if your here during Bike Week, Race Week, or Spring Break be sure to get there early or expect a wait.
There is indoor and outdoor seating. Plenty of parking and next to New Smyrna Bowling Alley, so if you have to many wings you can work off those extra calories. Or you can just have another beer, your choice.
While again in my humble opinion, not a first date destination, but that being said it is a great place for good food and a friendly staff.
