Yummy Cooking

The first thing I noticed about walking into Aunt Catfish’s On The River is the delicious smell!  Like a combination of freshly baked cinnamon rolls, cornbread and baked apples.  If you weren’t that hungry when you walked in, you will be when you sit down with the smell their home cooking.  No wonder Aunt Catfish’s is so popular with the locals.

Fresh Fish

With a name like Aunt Catfish’s it’s not surprising that the menu is primarily all about the fresh local seafood.  While they do have burgers and other items on the menu, the seafood is highly recommended.  It’s fresh and since the restaurant has been around for decades, they definitely know how to cook it.  But if your not into fish, the rest of the menu items are also very good.  With your dinner you also get a trip to the all you can eat hot bar that includes all kinds of goodies.  From cheese grits to baked beans it’s all there.  Do not forget to get a cinnamon roll!

Halifax River

Aunt Catfish’s on the river is just that.  Located on the corner of Halifax Drive and Dunlawton Ave, it is just before you drive over the causeway to beach side.  With plenty of window seating and also outdoor seating, your almost guaranteed a great view while dining.  I must warn you, however, this is a very busy place and they don’t take reservations so be prepared for a wait.  But there is lots to do while your waiting.  There is a long dock to explore, a nice outdoor waiting area with a playground for the kiddos, so get comfortable with the idea that waiting can be fun.

Sunday Brunch

The Blue Jean Sunday Brunch at Aunt Catfish’s is by far the best brunch we’ve been to so far in the Daytona Beach area.  All you can eat and more!  So good you’ll be sad when you get full.  The brunch is from 9:00-2:00 on Sunday.  The early bird cost is $14.99 after 10:00 it’s $17.99 and kids are $8.99.  Parking can be tricky because their lot fills in fairly quickly but there is additional parking across Dunlawton Ave in a lot there.  You will have to cross the street so be careful it’s a busy road. Enjoy!
