Daytona Escape Room Experience

Daytona Escape Room Experience

679 Beville Road

South Daytona, FL 32119

If you like to have fun and solve puzzles with your friends  Daytona Escape Room Experience lets  you do that in a completely immersive setting.

You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to play these games.  If your not familiar with what an escape game is, it is basically a game where you and your friends are “locked” in a room and have to figure out puzzles in order to “escape”.  There is generally a theme to the room, for example, in the Daytona Escape Room Experience room “The Ransom”, your group play interns to a renowned author who is kidnapped and it is up to you to save him. You are monitored at all times and you can ask for clues if you get stuck.

An escape room is a great way to bond with your kids and family, your friends, or your spouse. It’s also great for team building for your work family.  In addition to finding out each others strengths, it can also be hilariously funny.  Doing one with my work family, we found out that all of us are useless at math!  Oh well we had some great belly laughs along the way.

Having done several different escape rooms in different locations,  Daytona Escape Room Experience is superior.  The rooms are meticulously and impeccably decorated for the theme.  They are super clean.  The puzzles are hard but doable and also logical.  (Some places  leave you scratching your head because they make no sense.) The staff are also super friendly and helpful.

Located in a business park in South Daytona, there is plenty of parking and the games are reasonably priced.

Highly recommended for fun things to do in Daytona Beach!

See you at the Beach!

Dunlawton Sugar Mill Gardens

Dunlawton Sugar Mill Gardens

950 Old Sugar Mill Rd

Port Orange, Fl

Open 8am to 5pm, Dunlawton Sugar Mill Gardens is one of the free things to do while visiting the Daytona Beach area. Covering 10 acres of trails, you will come across different clusters of collections of indigenous and exotic trees and plants, along with a few surprises.

Originally producing sugar cane, cotton, and rice, the mill has burned down twice during the 1st Seminole war (1835) and the 2nd Seminole war (1856). Rebuilt and eventually becoming headquarters during the Civil war (1862) the kettles were used for the production of salt and the storage of food and admonition.

Becoming a tourist attraction as early as 1939, the property was leased in 1985 by The Botanical Gardens of Volusia to educate local gardeners, the Mill is run by donations, so please contribute if you can.

A great place to take a nature walk and enjoy the beauty of the area.  Also and excellent place for weddings, memorials, photo shoots, etc. However all events must be approved.

Just a few other things, watch out for poison ivy, no pets allowed, sadly, also they stress that it is not a playground but a garden, there is no food or drink allowed, and no smoking or vaping.

All the grounds are maintained by a volunteer organization, I think they welcome all and parking is kind of limited. there is a small dirt parking lot across the street and a few places in the front.

So all in all Dunlawton Sugar Mill Gardens is a free tour in Daytona Beach for the family with history and beautiful trails.  All in all a great value.  Not just to explore the gardens but to experience local history as well. Enjoy!
