We recently had the pleasure of seeing The Dewey Rose Band at Caribbean Jack’s, and we’re now officially fans! This group of classically trained musicians, including two former music teachers, offers up an amazing latitude of very tight performances. Covering songs from Santana to Adele, lead singer Darlene Knight has a phenomenal range, while guitarist Stan Palmer, Mike Tag on base, and Deb Dirmeir on drums all blew us away with their musical skill and talent.
What’s in a Name?
When asked how they came up with the name The Dewey Rose Band, they all laughed and Deb,who also does double duty as the logo designer, said something about a gig with nudist and an inside joke, so I don’t think I want to know. But regardless of how the name came about, it’s the music that counts and this band delivers. We definitely will see them again and if your in town, this band is a must see. Mai Tai Rumble
